Two Great Spa Deals For A Sunny Getaway

Sun and spa - two of our favourites

Now the days are getting a bit brighter, now is the best time to book a mini getaway or day out before peak holiday times send prices soaring. After all, why should spa trips be confined to a hen weekend? Although many are inclined to see visiting a spa as a “special treat” there are so many benefits so getting away from it all and enjoying a little R&R in the stunning English countryside. Here are a couple of our favourites …

A short train ride from London… Grayshott, Surrey
Hidden away in leafy rural Surrey, this takes luxury living to the next level. Although guests tend to speak in hushed tones (people come here to relax after all), everything here is exquisite, from the rooms, to the grounds and the food. Their £99 for two Spa Day Offer offer allows you and a buddy to spend a Monday or Tuesday in the spa, taking a dip in the indoor and outdoor pools, as well as steam and sauna rooms. You can also wander the spacious grounds, (which look like they belong in an episode of Downton Abbey). The deal also includes a three-course buffet lunch, with plenty of tasty – yet healthy – delights on offer, so you can fill your boots without the bloat. grayshottspa.com/about-grayshott/special-offers

A bit further afield … Galgorm Resort & Spa, Ballymena
Although getting here may involve a plane or ferry, this place takes the humble spa trip to the next level, with an entire outdoor assortment of indoor and outdoor thermal spa pools and cabins (called the “Thermal Village”) to explore. The 1 Night Summer Escape is £105 per person and includes dinner and breakfast, an overnight stay and full use of the spa facilities. For a luxury spa, the atmosphere here is fairly jovial – as many weddings take place here each year – with a traditional Irish pub on site, ideal if you’re not a fan of spas that take themselves too seriously. There’s also plenty to see and do outside of the spa itself – with the breath-taking Giant’s Causeway rock formation, while Game of Thrones fans can visit the many locations where the show was filmed. galgorm.com/summer-offers-2017.html
