Drum roll please! We reveal our 2014 muses with a helping hand from top industry insiders

Stepping out from the shadows of big sis Kim, Kylie Jenner’s now signature pout was quite possibly one of the most topical beauty looks of 2014. We’re pinning it on the teenage star’s love for over-the-top lip liner and her obsession with posting puckered-up selfies on Instagram!

Samantha Chapman from Pixiwoo says: “Kylie Jenner’s makeup is quite simplistic but strongly contoured. To recreate this luscious naked lip look outline and fill in your lips with MAC Lip Liner in Subculture and then finish up with MAC Lipstick in Touch.”

Best known for her starring role in hit US drama Revenge, Brit actress and style blogger Ashley Madekwe has soared to the top of our best-dressed list this year thanks to her faultless fashion ensembles. A ‘less is more’ kind of gal, the star’s style staples include chic tailoring, lots of denim, a bit of bling and of course her signature skinny strappy sandals.

Fashion blogger Breeny-Lee says: “I absolutely adore Ashley’s style! I have been crushing over her flair for fashion. She effortlessly mixes high-end with highstreet and the looks she throws together are attainable – that’s why I’m such a fan.”

Big hair don’t care! There’s no denying that Brit belter Ella Eyre has quite literally been the mane attraction of 2014. The Comeback singer’s golden ringlets brought plenty of va va voom to music festivals throughout the summer and added a rockstar edge to her super glam red carpet looks this year. We love!

Hair stylist Charlotte Mensah says: “Ella Eyre’s dramatic ombre looks great when coupled with copious volume. If you want to steal her style, wrap small sections around a small barrel curling iron. Once you’ve curled the entire head, take a boar bristle brush and backcomb through each curl to create that wonderful fluff effect.”

Ok, so we have to admit that crowning Solange Knowles as our lady of the year was an absolute no brainer. From her tress transforming talents to her brave makeup looks and fearless approach to fashion, the genius of Solange’s style is that she is not afraid of breaking all the rules. We salute you!

Fashion stylist Lydia Anne Thompson says:Solange takes fashion risks and I like that. She’s not shy of slipping into a no-bra tuxe, rocking bold prints or occasionally dipping back into old school glamour. I believe a true style icon is someone that plays with fashion and interprets it in their own way. Yep, she gets my vote!”
