Beats & Beauty: Feeling Festive

Music, makeup and must-haves
with pint sized presenter, Nadia Jae

I was down at Wireless Festival doing press for BANG radio, and all I could think about was ‘What am I going to wear?’ Every girl wants to look stylish and still be comfortable, but my go-to festival fave has to be gladiator heels. I’m quite the tomboy but I love to add a gladiator wedge or heel just to glam it up. This Adidas Originals Dragon sweatshirt (main pic) is from Rita Ora’s range, teamed with my favourite Levi 501 shorts and my Just Fab gladiator heels.

As much as I love gladiator sandals, I had to switch it up and don a pair of trainers for Lovebox festival, which took place 17 – 18 July. The weather has been amazing, and I love this cute but sexy lace jumpsuit from Missguided with my Urban Outfitters vintage F2 jacket thrown over it. I am so in love with my Gourmet NFN trainers that I’ve got them in red as well. I’m not very girly but this head band chain from Accessorize was too cute to resist!

I’m back to my trusty lace fronts again and I am really loving the Sensationnel Empress Lace Front Edge line. The colour 2 and the textures matches my natural hair for when I want leave-out. I always end up straightening the wigs but this synthetic one is heat safe so I can add some curls when I want some volume. My hair routine is to visit the salon every 4-6 weeks (visit pending) for a treatment, wash and trim.

My skin has really changed over the past few months! Not sure if it’s age, diet or it’s finally had enough of my lazy ways! The weather has dried it out a little, so once a week I am using Garnier Pure Active Daily Energising Gel Scrub. I swear by this face scrub and I have used it on my body a few times to help with skin peeling in the hot weather.Garnier_Skin_Naturals_Pure_Active_Fruit_Energy_Daily_Energising_Gel_Scrub___Oily_Skin_150ml_1371635642.png

What a month it has been for UK music! Krept and Konan released a remix to ‘Freak Of The Week’ and their album charted in its first week at number 2! History in the making for UK rap music – well done boys! I’m in love with ‘Dreams’ featuring Ed Sheeran from the album. They also performed at Wireless alongside BET Award winning Stormzy, Fuse ODG, Boy Better Know, Lethal B and Shakka. I spoke to Melissa Steel about her new track with Wretch 32, chatted to Stormzy and Giggs about the UK music growth in the last year. But nothing was more epic than seeing Drake on stage at Wireless wearing a ‘Boy Better Know’ t-shirt whilst performing alongside Skepta!

Make sure you tune in Thurs and Fri from 10am on BANG Radio 103.6FM for all my music updates and Nadia Jae’s Juice!

Until our next Spell!
