CURLiD, the revolutionary company dedicated to addressing the needs of the textured hair community, marked its one year anniversary and the launch of their hair analysis service in a spectacular launch party held at White City House. We were excited to arm guests with one of 100 copies of Spell Magazine placed in their goodie bags! The event showcased the remarkable journey of CURLiD and its commitment to the needs of the textured hair community.
The atmosphere was nothing short of enchanting and romantic. The room exuded a captivating ambiance, bathed in soft, warm lighting that set the perfect mood for an unforgettable evening. Drawing inspiration from the timeless charm of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, the venue bathed in a neo classic vibe. The intimacy of the space facilitated genuine connections among attendees. Conversations flowed effortlessly, and laughter resonated through the air, creating a sense of camaraderie among curly-haired individuals, haircare experts, and industry influencers alike.
The evening was hosted by the hilariously irresistible Paige Lewin, founder of podcast ‘Texture Talks’, and commenced with an inspiring documentary chronicling the CURLiD story, followed by heartfelt speeches from the Founders; CEO Rachel Marcelin, Trichologist Samantha Stewart MIT, and Head of R&D Jasmine Kerley. The highlight of the night was a live hair & scalp examination as Samantha led the audience through a guest’s curly roots, displayed close-up on a widescreen. Samantha carefully explained what she was seeing and what processes and treatments would be best suited to rectify any issues she was identifying. It is probably fair to comment the audience were spell-bound. The evening concluded with a lively interactive Q&A, allowing guests to gain valuable insights from the team.
Guests present at the event comprised a diverse mix, including curly-haired individuals, representatives from prominent haircare brands, press members, and influential figures from the hair industry. Notably, hair expert Sandra Gittens delivered an emotional speech, congratulating the CURLiD team and emphasising the significance of their work in the haircare industry. She expressed the need for more professionals in the hair industry to be aware of the remarkable contributions CURLiD is making.
Sandra shared her sentiments post-event, stating, “CURLiD’s launch and concept were fantastic, celebrating curly hair and haircare! Congratulations to the founding members of CURLiD.”
Guests were awed by the ground-breaking work CURLiD is doing for people with textured hair. They learned about the company’s two-pronged approach, involving the hair analysis kit and salon training, equipping hairdressers with invaluable knowledge on hair health, paving the way for healthier hair journeys and happier salon experiences.
The CURLiD launch party was a resounding success, and a testament to their dedication and innovation to transform the haircare industry for the better. The evening celebrated not just CURLiD’s success but also the diversity and beauty of textured hair, leaving attendees inspired and hopeful for the future of inclusive haircare.
