The blazer dress may have made its debut as a party-ready frock. But unlike most seasonal dresses that can fade into the abyss of our wardrobe, fashion pundits are in full agreement that the tailored garment is worthy of seeing the light of day.
‘It’s so important to stock up on dresses that can take you from day to night,’ says celebrity stylist Taslima Khan. ‘You get true value for money this way and you don’t suffer the last-minute panic of “what do I wear?”
The beauty of the modern-day blazer is that while it looks structured, the fit is not stiff or unflattering.
‘Pay special attention to the fit to avoid an overly boxy silhouette’, advises Taslima. ‘You’ll either want to cinch it in at the waist for a fit-andflare effect or keep it loose to skim the body’.
This little number is power dressing personified. Once you’ve found the right one, simply slick back your hair, swipe on lipstick and step into a pair of killer heels!
