Drama kween
Pretty pastel unicorn shades are trending right now and tribal-style markings are the epitome of cool. Get the look by blending SLEEK MAKEUP i-divine, £8.99, over your eyelids for a heavy metal hit. Finish with a swipe of catwalk-cool liner using NYX Vivid Brights Liquid Liner, £5.50 to add a twinkle to the corners of your eyes. To top off your look, BARRY M’s Face Jewel, £4.99, will add extra sass to your outfit.

Bajan babe
As if we could get away without mentioning Rih Rih – the ultimate carnival queen. We’ve stalked all of her make-up looks, but what wins us over are her glow-up body goals. A good skincare routine will help brighten your complexion. But for an extra boost, invest into some beautifying body make-up. Luminizers add a touch of radiance, veiling the skin in a dewy, high-shine finish. Our favourite, Body Lava, £46, is from Rihanna’s FENTY BEAUTY line and hydrates the skin to give a fresh all-over glow. Meanwhile, use BOBBI BROWN’s Highlighting Powder, £36, to add dimension to your face, neckline and shoulders. Wetting your make-up brush before application will produce a dramatic chrome-like effect.

Party gyal
Constructing the ultimate carnival look is all about making sure your make-up lasts. Forget heavy foundation as it’s likely to head south down your face in the heat. A lighter option, such as BOBBI BROWN Nude Finish Tinted Moisturiser, £29, will keep your complexion looking fresh. Rocking a bold lip is a must as it will stop your shades from overshadowing your face. Stick to a lip stain rather than a gloss such as E.L.F Glossy Lip Stain, £6, which has a natural finish and will withstand eating and drinking. Finally, fix your make-up in place with cult fave Revolution Hyaluronic Fixing Spray, £6.

Feeling blue
Blue is definitely the hottest colour when it comes to curating the ultimate carni look. It suits darker skin tones and is the perfect way to rock a bolder look that you wouldn’t wear to the office. For eyes that mesmerise, try an aqua blue two-tone liner look. Using SHISHEIDO Kajal Ink Artist Shadow, Liner, Brow in Sumi Sky, £22, draw a line just above your top lashes, then open your eyes and continue into a v-shape. Finish by blending MILK MAKEUP Eye Pigment in Rave, £20.50, along the lower lash line. If you want to add a touch of sparkle, dab NYX COSMETICS Face & Body Glitter, £6, into the inner corners of the eyes. Now step back and get ready to appreciate your own fierceness.

Golden child
When you don’t want to go OTT with your make-up, the combination of gold and coral works every time. Pair ILLAMASQUA Cream Blusher in Dixie, £22, with Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise in Champagne, £26, for a touch of sparkle. If you’re in and out of natural lighting, sun striping is much more flattering than contouring – plus it’s low maintenance when you’re dancing the day away. Simply apply your foundation as normal, then take a shimmer bronzer and gently dust across your cheeks and the bridge of your nose where the sun would naturally hit. Pretty yet practical, pair with a punchy bright lip such as FENTY BEAUTY’s new Poutsicle Juicy Satin Lipstick in Hot Blooded, £17. It’s matte yet super moisturising. But, best of all, it will stay put – no matter how many rum punches or jerk chicken you get through.
