Adwoa and Imaan Hamman announced as new faces of Revlon

Let’s hear it for WOC finally getting in the beauty spotlight

When it comes to beauty brands catering for a diverse range of women,
we know there’s still work to be done. But with pioneering lines like Fenty Beauty and Black Up
championing inclusivity, the tide is slowly turning and the big brands
are slowly waking up to this fact. So we were pleased as punch to hear
today’s announcement that Revlon are adding a few familiar faces to its
roster of global brand ambassadors. Notably, model-of-the-moment Adwoa Aboah, as well as Dutch model Imaan Hammam who is of Egyptian and Moroccan descent.

The girls join ‘Wonder Woman’ actress Gal Gadot who was confirmed at the beginning of the month, as well as Brazilian model Raquel Zimmermann and curvaceous cover girl Ashley Graham, the latter making headlines for not being a conventional ‘slim’ sample size. Adwoa and Imaan will be starring in Revlon’s new Live Boldly
campaign, celebrating individuality. Let’s hope this is not a mere
‘trend’ but a commitment to fair representation in the future.

Adwoa has certainly been a busy lady, appearing on Edward Enninful‘s debut Vogue cover (where she is also a Contributing Editor) as well as being a mental health advocate as the founder of online publication Gurls Talk. If that wasn’t enough, she was also named Model of the Year at least year’s Fashion Awards – phew!

She commented, “Revlon gives us a platform that allows us to be
accessible to all different types of women. To me, ‘Living Boldly’ means
being unapologetic, knowing no boundaries, being vulnerable, strong,
authentic and yourself.”
