Hold the phone – MDM Flow now do foundation!

The iconic lipstick range has branched out into base make-up

To the uninitiated, MDM Flow is the brainchild of trailblazing 20-something Florence Adepoju.
She began her game-changing makeup line in her parents’ shed, having
studied cosmetic science at The London College of Fashion. For her
final-year project, she created lipsticks in a bright range of colours
that would flatter dark skintones, and that eventually became MDM Flow.
Her lipsticks were soon snapped up by the likes of Harvey Nichols, Topshop and Nasty Gal, and since then she has become a prominent media figure in her own right.

Passionate about representing diversity, it was only a matter of time
before a foundation range was on the cards – one of the most
contentious products in the industry with many major brands coming under
fire for not catering to women of colour. Here’s why you should be getting psyched if you haven’t already…

They’re affordable

At only a tenner for 25ml, you’re not going to lose much by trying
them out. As Florence herself noted on Instagram,”[the smaller bottle]
means when your complexion changes in the summer you don’t have half a
bottle left. ALSO You can finally squeeze two foundations into your
carry-on.”

The shade range is diverse (no surprises there!)

The range is launching with 20 shades

The formula is serum-based

This means it blends like a dream and doesn’t look cakey or feel
heavy once you’ve applied it. If their luscious non-drying lipsticks are
anything to go by, we’re in for a read treat! It also contains a
cocktail of skin-loving ingredients such as vitamin C and reservatrol (to help boost elasticity and repair against sun damage), as well as good old hyaluronic acid to boost hydration levels.
