Pink makes a beauty comeback

Pink is the colour of the moment! Renowned make-up artist Banke Meshida Lawal gives us her tips on how to wear this juicy shade.

Bold is beautiful and a striking look can be achieved with any shade. However, darker skin tones look ah-mazing in pink. To prise yourself away from red, consider a matte purply-pink pout. It’s less formal and has an all-round fun in the sun vibe. ‘Prime lips by using a sugar scrub first. This will stop peeling and improve your lip texture, which becomes highly visible when wearing matte shades,’ says Banke.

Meet Banke Meshida Lawal

Banke has achieved make-up superstardom. Working with royalty and celebrity elites, the MUA is also renowned for her bridal make-up, particularly on African brides. Her niche skills have garnered a huge following online and led to the creation of her own cosmetic range, BMPRO Makeup – the first make-up line of colour to hail from Nigeria. She told us, ‘I wanted to create a range that delivered optimum results in the hot and humid African climate.’
