Fulani feels
While Fulani braids have been on the scene from last year, we’ve spotted an increasing number of street style stars adding a fresh twist, with their pattern of choice being a neatly plaited heart-shaped emoji. We’re particularly loving model Adwoa Aboah’s braided bun, combined with beaded braids at a face-hugging, jawline length.

90s girlband
We’ve all called up a friend before a night out to ask what they’re wearing. But now it’s time to get serious about
outfit coordination. London brand Poster Girl and designer Edward Crutchley both showcased collections honouring harmonic styles without being too matchy-matchy. The key to girlband fashion for the real world? Stick to two or three colours between your group.

The cheek of it
Wearing blusher higher on your cheekbones can lift your whole look, providing an easy spring update. Recreate the rosy faces as seen at Chet Lo and Daniel w. Fletcher by choosing a bold blusher and softly brushing the pigment from the top of your cheekbone along your temple, and finishing at the tail of your eyebrow. Go for a small amount of product for a more natural look, or build the product stroke-by-stroke for vivid colour.

H2T colour
Spring and summer fashion often reflects the colours of the natural world around us, and this season is no different. Designers such as Chet Lo placed a heavy emphasis on vibrant looks, with models in head-to-toe greens, blues, reds, pink and oranges. Meanwhile, street stylers dabbled in complementary and contrasting colours for their eye-catching ensembles. Consult your nearest Pantone colour guide to get your formula right!

All good in the hood
You can’t count on British weather, but you can count on this season’s most stylish practical accessories: hoods and bonnets. Featured across multiple looks by Halpern, Paria Farzaneh and Yuhan Wang, these head coverings will keep your hair safe from a downpour while looking devastatingly sartorial – and a little bit fairytale-esque. It’s Brothers Grimm escapism with a utilitarian edge.

Colourful frames
The sunglasses market is currently saturated with minimalist black frames befitting a 90s Calvin Klein ad, so we’re delighted to see a wider palette colouring this season’s shades. The latest must-have is Loewe’s Inflated Cateye Sunglasses, a cartoonish take on the cat eye shape spotted on influencers who exaggerated the look with loud outfits and bold makeup.

Face-framing tendrils
When FKA Twigs walked the catwalk for Miu Miu SS23, she sported two reverse cornrows finished with tapered ends that sat neatly atop each cheek. The look, created by hairstylist Louis Souvestre, is a braided take on the face-framing tendrils that were raised from the Y2K grave in 2019, and bring just the right amount of edge to Miu Miu’s preppy cable knits and mini skirts.

Skin in the game
If you haven’t found your desert island skincare product yet, now’s the time to start looking. Missoni and Miu Miu were all about fresh faces, combining a hydrated, dewy complexion with brushed up brows and bare lashes. Any colour – if at all – was centred on the lips, with Missoni’s models donning a very wearable pink-brown ombre.
