The style was at its height in the mid 90s and was the go-to look for R&B groups like Jade and SWV. Recently, the seed was sown for the pin curl comeback with Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s collab on the song WAP. Both female rappers replicated the old-school updo with a customised slick lace wig paired with the obligatory swooping side-part fringe. And just like the song, it became an overnight hit.
