As the saying goes, ‘the eyes are like the windows to the soul’ – so why wouldn’t you decorate your peepers bright enough for the heavens to see?
Dame Pat McGrath, coveted makeup artist to the stars and co-creator of Doja Cat’s head-turning look at Paris Haute Couture Week SS23, is most definitely a fan of this trend – however, while Doja has the confidence (and the patience) to pull off all-over body crystals, we’re limiting this look to the eyes… for now.
Gemstones, crystals, pearls and diamantés are your best friends when it comes to recreating the bejewelled eye trend. Try scouring the bead and sequin sections of a craft shop for fun embellishments, or search your favourite beauty retailer for face jewels. There’s no limit to what you could create!
However, creativity means nothing if you’re not putting safety first. Always remember to use skin-safe glue or face tape when trying out this trend – never household adhesives.
