It’s official, feather crochet hair is taking over. Set to replace boho and goddess braids that have reigned supreme for the last five years, this new lightweight, knotless technique has been bubbling up across TikTok and IG. Hailed for it ultra-natural finish and barely-there feel (think: volume without the bulk, texture without the tension), just don’t take our word for it, we’ve got the videos to prove it.
Roll tape…
Tiarra Monet levelled up her crochet installs from last year. Her archive of videos shows her dexterously putting in the hair piece by piece, dyeing it and taking it out. This one with her hubby reveals how the seamless, string-based technique = zero bulky roots. But most of all, just how easy it is.
Alexa.B is positioning herself as the miracle feather crochet queen. What’s that you ask? Miracle feather crochet is alternative to knotless braids – with a crochet spin, of course. It requires plaiting natural hair into single braids, then feeding the feathered hair through a gap. The hair it tied into an invisible knot resulting in a full-bodied soft curls, minus the heaviness.
We’re thrilled to see Jaleesa is back with the hair tutorials. Sis hooks us up by revealing her canerow base pattern to achieve an effortless, airy, and made for movement feather crochet style. If you have any questions, simply scroll through the comments for Jaleesa’s answer to each one.
